MARKET LIVE 7.10.10

2:04 pm: Ramco Systems Ltd has appointted R. Shankar as Executive Vice President-India, Middle East and Africa. Until now, Shankar was heading the Middle East and Africa operations. On NSE, Ramco shares were lower by 1.10% at Rs 116.70. 

1:40 pm: “Nifty futures today opened flat following mixed global cues and now sustaining near 6200 levels. Nifty is continuously consolidating in a narrow range for the last three sessions and if it sustains above the current levels then only we may see fresh upmove towards life time high levels. On downside, Nifty future has support around 6150 levels for the day; if it falls below these levels then we may witness selling pressure in the market towards 6100 levels,” said brokerage Anand Rathi. 


1:12 pm: HEM Securities has recommended ‘Subscribe’ to the initial public offering of Oberoi Realty. “The company is bringing the issue at price band of Rs 253-260 per share which will turn up into P/E multiple of 26-27 on post issue annualized EPS of Rs 9.72. The company has posted strong financials from last few years. Apart from that, robust margins as compared to peers and debt free status of company makes it lucrative investment avenue. Hence we recommend investors to 'Subscribe' the issue,” the report said. 

12:43 pm: Tata Communications Ltd has announced the launch of InstaCompute and InstaOffice, expanding the company's expansion in the cloud space to deliver self-service, pay-as-you-use IT application and data center infrastructure services, accessed throught the Internet. On NSE, the company's shares shot up 4.47% to Rs 336.50. 

12:31 pm: Aurobindo Pharma Ltd has appointed Mr.N.Govindarajan as Chief Executive Officer (APIs & CRAMS). On NSE, the company's shares were higher by 2.51% at Rs 1,129. The stock saw a high of Rs 1,145 versus a low of Rs 1,105. 

12:29 pm: GAIL (India) Ltd has placed orders worth Rs 677 crore for laying of pipelines for Dabhol-Bangalore Pipeline project. The construction work will start by November 2010 and the pipeline will be ready by March 2012. On NSE, the company's shares were slightly lower by 0.08% at Rs 488.25. 

11:50 am: Gokul Refoils & Solvent Ltd has won awards for highest 'Rapeseed Extraction', 'Rapeseed Oilcake' and 'Castor seed Extraction'. On BSE, the company's shares were up 0.47% at Rs 95.50. 

11:28 am: Cadila Healthcare Ltd informs that Zydus Cadila has received USFDA approval to market Losartan Potassium tablets (25 mg, 50 mg and 100 mg) and Losartan Potassium + Hydrochlorothiazide tablets (50/12.5 mg and 100/25 mg) in the US market. The company has launched both the products on the same day of receiving the approvals. The drugs fall in the anti-hypertensive segment and are used for treating high blook pressure. On BSE, Cadila Healthcare shares were down half a per cent at Rs 690. 

10:45 am: Nu Tek India Ltd has decided to start African with Tigo and Qcell orders. The company sees visibility to have revenue of US $25 million from the orders. On NSE, the company's shares were up 2.32% at Rs 61.85. 

10:29 am: Corporation Bank has revised its Benchmark Prime Lending Rate from 12.50% per annum to 12.75% p.a. with effect from October 8, 2010. On NSE, the bank's shares were up nearly 1% at Rs 729.25. 

10:10 am: Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd has decided to invest Rs.90,04,50,000 in JMC Projects (India) Ltd towards preferential issue of 43,50,000 equity shares of Rs.10 each at price of Rs.207 per share. On NSE, Kalpataru shares were higher by 3.35% at Rs 196. 

10:08 am: Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd informs that the central government has notified that the Power System Operation Corporation Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Power Grid, shall operate National Load Despatch Centre and the five Regional Load Despatch Centres, with effect from October 1, 2010. On NSE, Power Grid shares were weaker by 0.13% at Rs 111.60. 

10:06 am: Gulf Oil Corporation Ltd informs that the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation, Government of India, has revoked the interim suspension of licenses for the Hyderabad works. The operations at the Hyderabad works are being resumed. On NSE, the company's shares were up 1.08% at Rs 107.90. 

9:47 am: Gainers comprised Reliance Communications (3.14%), Bharti Airtel (1.59%), ACC (1.35%), Hindustan Unilever (1.16%), Reliance Industries (0.85%), Hero Honda (0.83%), Cipla (0.75%), Hindalco (0.69%), BHEL (0.51%), Reliance Infra (0.48%), Tata Motors (0.26%) and Sterlite Industries (0.11%). 

9:44 am: Losers on the Sensex were HDFC (-1.42%), Wipro (-1.11%), ICICI Bank (-0.87%), Infosys Technologies (-0.86%), HDFC Bank (-0.75%), Maruti Suzuki (-0.73%), Larsen & Toubro (-0.71%), Tata Steel (-0.52%), DLF (-0.43%), Tata Consultancy Services (-0.41%), State Bank of India (-0.32%), Mahindra & Mahindra (-0.22%), among others. 

9:35 am: Sensex was down 48.70 points or 0.24% at 20,494.38. The BSE sensitive index opened the session at 20,544.30 versus the previous close of 20,543.08. The 30-share index moved between 20,581.29 and 20,488.37 in half hour of trade. 

9:31 am: Nifty traded at 6173.70, lower by 12.75 points or 0.21%. The NSE benchmark opened the day flat at 6186.85 against Wednesday's close of 6186.45. The 50-share index saw a high of 6197.80 versus a low of 6173.30. 

9:15 am: Indian stock benchmarks were trading marginally lower Thursday, even as Asian markets advanced, due to profit booking by investors after the smart gains seen Wednesday. The sectors in the red were IT, banking, realty, and telecom & entertainment.
